An eligible employee is someone who meets your plan's participation requirements, typically defined as being at least 21 years old and having completed a certain period of service (often 1 year or 1,000 hours). You have flexibility in setting these requirements when designing your plan, though they must comply with IRS regulations and not discriminate in favor of highly compensated employees.
A 3(16) fiduciary is a named plan administrator who takes on legal responsibility for day-to-day plan operations and compliance. This is important because it reduces your liability as an employer. Todays Pension acts as the 3(16) fiduciary for all our plans, meaning we assume responsibility for administrative functions including government reporting, compliance testing, and participant communications.
You can upgrade your plan at any time by contacting your dedicated account manager. Plan upgrades typically take effect at the beginning of the following month. We'll work with you to ensure a smooth transition and help you understand how the enhanced features will benefit your company and employees. There are no upgrade fees beyond the difference in monthly pricing.
